Who they were
Francisco Martínez Garrido was born on 28 November 1876 at Siles, in the province and diocese of Jaén, and was ordained priest in 1892.
He was killed on 14 January 1936 in the prison at Vélez Rubio, in the province of Almería, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
