Francisco Romero Ortega was born on 30 March 1872 at Almería, and was ordained priest in 1896.
He was killed on 28 August 1936 on the road to Huércal near Almería, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
