Who they were
Francisco Santos Cadierno was born at Nogarejas de la Valdería on 7 May 1913 and made simple profession in 1930. He was studying philosophy when he was killed in 1936, and Pope Francis beatified him on 18 June 2022.

He was put to death in 1936 in the persecution in Spain, and the Church recognised his death as martyrdom.
