The decree on martyrdom records him as fifty-eight years old, born at Laval, head of two colleges and then attached to the church of Saint-Michel, and says he enjoyed a reputation for holiness. He was beatified on 19 June 1955 by Pius XII, among Jean-Baptiste Turpin du Cormier and his companions.
