Who they were
In the stretch of sea off Rochefort on the French coast, Blesseds Claude-Joseph Jouffret de Bonnefont, of the Company of the Priests of Saint Sulpice, François François, of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, and Lazare Tiersot, of the Carthusian Order, priests and martyrs, who, confined during the French Revolution in a squalid prison ship, suffered martyrdom for their priesthood.
