François Pallu
French missionary bishop, co-founder of the Paris Foreign Missions Society
Who they were
Born at Tours in 1626, he was co-founder of the Society of Foreign Missions of Paris, first vicar apostolic of Tonkin from 1659, founder of the Ayutthaya seminary for indigenous clergy, and died at Muyang in Fujian, China.

The diocesan phase of his beatification cause was opened on 29 October 2023 in Hanoi, in the presence of the Vietnamese bishops, the papal representative and the MEP superior general, on the 339th anniversary of his death.
