Fructuosus of Braga

Who they were
Fructuosus, son of a Gothic general, withdrew after his parents' deaths to live as a hermit in Galicia. Disciples gathered and he founded the monastery of Compludo and nine more, and one for eighty virgins, writing rules for them.
In 654 he was made Bishop of Dumium and on 1 December 656 Archbishop of Braga, the greatest of Spain's monastic bishops. He died on 16 April, about 665.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
