Who they were
Gabriel Olivares Roda, of the Order of Friars Minor, was born on 10 March 1888 at Baz, in the province of Granada and the diocese of Guadix, and was ordained priest in 1912.
He was killed on 21 December 1936 at the Campamento de Viator, in the province of Almería, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
