Who they were
Louis-Gabriel-Taurin Dufresse was born at Lézoux in the Bourbonnais in 1751. A priest of the Paris Foreign Missions, he became Bishop of Tabraca in 1800 and Vicar Apostolic of Sze-ch'wan in China.
During the harsh persecution under the Emperor Kia-king he was beheaded in that province on 14 September 1815.
