Gaudiosus of Naples

Who they were

At Naples, the burial of Saint Gaudiosus, bishop, who is said to have left Abitina in Tunisia because of the persecution of the Vandals, taking refuge in Campania, and to have died a holy death in a monastery.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 27 October as a bishop said to have fled the Vandal persecution from Abitina to Campania.
