Who they were
Géry, born of Roman parents at Yvois, led a devout life from youth and was taken into the clergy by St Magneric of Trier. He became Bishop of Cambrai-Arras, gave alms to the poor and founded the monastery of St-Médard.
He attended the Council of Paris in 614 and died on 11 August, between 623 and 626, after thirty-nine years as bishop. He is patron of Cambrai.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

A devout bishop who cared for the poor of his people.
