Who they were
At Arles in Provence in France, Saint Genesius, martyr, who, while still a catechumen and working as a court clerk, refused to act against the Christians and, having then sought safety in flight, was captured by soldiers and baptised in his own blood.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
