Genoveva Torres Morales
Spanish Roman Catholic nun and saint (1870-1956)

Who they were
Genoveva Torres Morales was born at Almenara, Castellón, on 3 January 1870. Orphaned at eight, she kept house and cared for a brother; at thirteen one leg had to be amputated, crudely, and she walked on two crutches for the rest of her life.
Kind and merciful, she founded and wisely guided the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Holy Angels, 'the Angélicas', to care for women. She died at Zaragoza on 5 January 1956.
