Santiebeati.it records Giacomo Torno as a Theatine priest of San Paolo Maggiore in Naples, venerated since an informative process begun in 1611, whose beatification process Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe authorised reopening on 23 May 2020; the diocesan cause was formally opened at San Paolo Maggiore on 18 January 2024 under Archbishop Domenico Battaglia. No decree on heroic virtues has been promulgated, so the popular title 'Venerabile' used locally is not a formal one.
