Who they were
Girolamo Arese was an Italian deacon of the counts of that name, from Milan, about twenty-four years old, who was run through with a sword as he knelt in the dormitory before the altar of the Virgin Mary. He was one of Frederick Bachstein and thirteen companions of the Order of Friars Minor killed at Prague on 15 February 1611, and was beatified on 13 October 2012 by Benedict XVI.
