Giuseppe Baldo

Who they were
Giuseppe Baldo was born at Puegnago, on Lake Garda, on 19 February 1843, and ordained in 1865. In 1877 he became parish priest of Ronco all'Adige, where he faced the threats of a group of Freemasons.
He founded a free nursery school, a work school, a mutual-aid society to protect the poor from usurers, a small hospital, a home for the old and a Catholic rural bank, and in 1894 the Little Daughters of St Joseph. He died at Ronco on 24 October 1915.
