Who they were
Giuseppe Toniolo was born at Treviso on 7 March 1845, graduated in law at Padua in 1867 and became an assistant professor there the next year. On 4 September 1878 he married Maria Schiatti, and they had seven children.
A husband and father, university professor, educator of the young, economist and sociologist, he was a passionate servant of communion in the Church.
