Who they were
In the monastery of Ilbenstadt in Germany, Saint Gottfried of Cappenberg: count of Cappenberg, against the advice of the nobles he decided to turn his castle into a monastery and, taking the habit of a canon, undertook tenacious work for the needy and the sick.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 13 January as the count who turned his castle at Cappenberg into a monastery.
