Gregorio Martos Muñoz was born on 3 April 1908 at Chilecito, in the province of La Rioja and the diocese of Córdoba in Argentina, and the date of his priestly ordination is not recorded.
He was killed on 19 August 1936 beside the estuary at Adra, in the province of Almería, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
