Who they were
Gregory, Bishop of Elvira in southern Spain from at least 375, was an ardent defender of the Nicene creed against Arianism and refused communion with Arian bishops.
He took the strict view of Lucifer of Cagliari that no communion should be held with any who had been tainted by Arianism. He died about 392, a very old man.

He is venerated in Spain as a saint; there was never a formal cause.
