Who they were
Ferdinando Santamaria was born at Pontecorvo on 4 May 1883. As Brother Grimoaldo of the Purification, a young Passionist, he lived by a few clear rules: give God the first place, and show Jesus Crucified constant gratitude by concrete works of penance and humility.
While preparing for the priesthood with fervour and joy, he fell ill and died a holy death in 1902, aged nineteen.
