Who they were
In the monastery of Aulps in Burgundy, in present-day France, the passing of Saint Guarinus, bishop of Sion, who, a monk at Molesme in the time of Saint Robert, founded this monastery, governed it in holiness and joined it to the Cistercian Order.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 27 August as a bishop of Sion who founded the monastery of Aulps.
