Who they were
At Borgo San Donnino near Parma, Saint Guido, abbot of the monastery of Pomposa, who, after gathering many disciples and rebuilding sacred buildings, devoted himself fervently to prayer, contemplation and divine worship and in the hermitage wished to have his mind turned to God alone.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
