Who they were
At Anderlecht in Brabant, in present-day Belgium, Saint Guy, who was first sacristan of the church of Mariensee; known for his generosity to the poor, he became a pilgrim for seven years to the holy places and, having finally returned to his own land, died there piously.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 12 September as a church sacristan, generous to the poor, who spent seven years on pilgrimage to the holy places.
