Who they were
Ġużeppi (Joseph) De Piro, born at Mdina, founded the Missionary Society of Saint Paul at Mdina on 30 June 1910 and directed several orphanages, including the first in Gozo, opened at Għajnsielem in 1925.

Why that counted as sanctity
The cause was opened in the archdiocese of Malta, the nihil obstat given on 10 May 1988 and the diocesan inquiry running from 7 October 1988 to 25 January 2003; the Archdiocese of Malta still calls him Servant of God.
