Who they were
Habakkuk (Habacuc) is the eighth of the Minor Prophets, who probably lived towards the end of the seventh century before Christ. Nothing reliable is known of his birthplace or life.
His prophecy proclaims that the just shall live by faith, a verse repeatedly taken up in the New Testament, and that the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.

He is honoured as a saint of the Old Testament; there was never a formal cause.
