Hegesippus
2nd century Christian saint and chronicler

Who they were
Hegesippus was a second-century writer, probably from the East and a convert from Judaism, who wrote five books of Memoirs setting down the true tradition of the Apostles' preaching against the Gnostics and Marcion.
He travelled to Corinth and Rome, meeting many bishops, and found that all taught the same doctrine handed down through the succession of bishops. He is in the Roman Martyrology on 7 April.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

An early witness to the one faith handed down from the Apostles.
