Who they were
Henri Marrannes was a layman born at Ferrières-la-Verrerie on 27 June 1923 and baptised on 15 August; after his schooling and an apprenticeship as a typewriter mechanic he worked in Paris, where he joined the Young Christian Workers with enthusiasm and became a federal member. Recruited for the compulsory labour service, he was sent to Gera in November 1942, was arrested on 19 April 1944 and died at Zwickau on 4 April 1945, aged 21. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
