Who they were
At Constantinople, Saint Hilarion, priest and hegumen of the monastery called after Dalmatius, who for the defence of the veneration of the sacred images suffered unconquered imprisonment, scourging and exile.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 June as the abbot at Constantinople who bore prison, scourging and exile in defence of the veneration of the sacred images.
