Iarlaithe mac Loga
Irish priest and scholar from Connacht

Who they were
Jarlath, born in Connacht about 445, studied under St Benignus and founded a school at Cloonfush near Tuam that drew scholars from all Ireland, including St Brendan and St Colman of Cloyne. In humility he went himself to learn from St Enda on Aran.
Known for fasting, vigils and mortification, he bent his knee in prayer three hundred times by day and by night. He is patron of Tuam and died about 540.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

A great teacher who remained a humble learner and man of prayer.
