Who they were
Brother Rogaciano (Ignacio González Calzada) was born at Terrazos de Bureba, in the province of Burgos, on 29 July 1885, and made his perpetual vows as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1915. He served as cook in several communities, from Jerez to Madrid. He was stopped while bringing food to a children's school in Madrid, recognised as a religious, and killed on 22 July 1936.
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.
