Bishop of Siedlce in communist Poland, formerly a seminary rector and theology professor in Vilnius
Who they were
Born into a landowning family at Ellern near Daugavpils in Latvian Inflanty, Świrski was a military chaplain, professor and seminary rector in Vilnius before being made bishop of Siedlce (Podlasie) in 1946, which he governed for twenty-two years under communist rule until his death in 1968.

Why that counted as sanctity
The diocese of Siedlce obtained the nihil obstat on 18 December 2017 and opened the diocesan process in Siedlce cathedral on 24 March 2018, from which date he holds the title Servant of God; a Mass for his beatification is celebrated in the cathedral on the 25th of each month.
