Ignatius of Santhià

Who they were
Lorenzo Maurizio Belvisotti was born at Santhià near Vercelli on 5 June 1686, lost his father at seven, and was educated by a devout priest relative. Ordained in 1710, he served as chaplain to a noble family in Vercelli.
He then became a Capuchin as Brother Ignatius and in 1731 was named novice master at Mondovì. He was tireless in hearing confessions and caring for the sick.
