Who they were
Ildephonsus, nephew of St Eugenius of Toledo, entered the monastery of Agli against his father's opposition and founded a convent of nuns while still a monk. He became Abbot of Agli.
In 657 King Recceswinth called him to be Archbishop of Toledo, which he governed for over nine years. He died on 23 January 667.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
