Irmina of Oeren

Who they were

Near Trier in Austrasia, in Germany, Saint Irmina, abbess of the monastery of Öhren, who, a matron consecrated to God, gave Saint Willibrord a small monastery she had founded on her estate at Echternach, and was a generous dispenser of her own goods.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 24 December as abbess of Öhren who gave Saint Willibrord her monastery at Echternach.
