At Asyut, again in Egypt, the holy martyrs Ischyrion, commander of the army, and five other soldiers, who, by order of the prefect Arrianus, under the emperor Decius, were killed for their faith in Christ by various kinds of martyrdom.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
