Who they were
Isidore was born in Madrid around 1070 and worked the land there with his wife, Blessed María de la Cabeza. Though he laboured hard, he went to Mass every day and gave much time to prayer; envious fellow workers unjustly accused him of skimping on his work.
He and his wife shared the little they had with the poor. He died on 15 May 1130 and is patron of farm workers and farmers.
