Who they were
Jacopo Benedetti of Todi was transformed by the holiness and tragic death of his young wife and became a Franciscan friar and a great religious poet.
He joined the friars who sought the strict observance of the Rule. He died at Collazzone at midnight Mass on Christmas 1306, as the Gloria was intoned, believed to have died of an excess of divine love.

The Catholic Encyclopedia notes that he has not been beatified or canonised, though efforts have been made towards it.
