Who they were
At Vienna in Austria, Blessed Jakob (Franz Alexander) Kern, priest of the Premonstratensian Order: while still a student, called to arms in the First World War and gravely wounded, he afterwards devoted himself with every care to pastoral ministry, which he exercised for a short time, struck by a long and relentless illness that he accepted with fortitude, in peaceful obedience to the will of God.
