Hám was bishop of Satu Mare from 1828 and founded the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul of Szatmár. Santiebeati.it gives his birth as 6 January 1781, one day later than the Hagiography Circle.

Why that counted as sanctity
The informative process for his beatification opened at Satu Mare on 11 November 1896 and, after long interruptions, the diocesan inquiry was reopened there in 2013 under Bishop Jenő Schönberger.
