Who they were
In the stretch of sea off Rochefort on the French coast, Blesseds Jean-Baptiste Duverneuil, of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, and Pierre-Aredius Labrouhe de Laborderie, canon of Clermont-Ferrand, priests and martyrs, who during the French Revolution, held together on a prison ship because of their priesthood, died wasted by disease.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 1 July as a Discalced Carmelite priest who died of disease on a prison ship off Rochefort during the French Revolution.
