Who they were
Jean Duthu was a seminarian of Clermont-Ferrand, born at Bordeaux on 11 August 1921 and baptised there three days later; he entered the seminary of Clermont in March 1941 and in November 1942 was admitted to the Youth Works of the Cantal group. Recruited for the compulsory labour service in July 1943, he left for Watenstedt, where he was arrested on 20 June 1944, and he died at Flossenbürg on 13 May 1945, aged 23. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
