Jean Préhu

Who they were

Jean Préhu was a layman born at Laval on 27 March 1920 and baptised there on 22 April; he enlisted on 13 October 1938, was taken prisoner near Strasbourg in June 1940 and sent to the camps at Bonn, where he asked to join the Scouts and was admitted to the promise. Arrested on 8 August 1944, he died on 27 April 1945, aged 25, during the evacuation of Buchenwald. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
