Who they were
Jaenberht became Abbot of St Augustine's, Canterbury, in 760 and was consecrated thirteenth Archbishop of Canterbury on 2 February 766.
He vigorously resisted King Offa's scheme to create a rival archbishopric in Mercia, but was forced to give up much of Canterbury's jurisdiction in 787. He died at Canterbury in August 791.
