Joachim of Fiore

Who they were
Joachim, son of a notary at the Sicilian court, was converted on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and spent Lent in contemplation on Mount Tabor. He became a Cistercian, was ordained, and against his will was made abbot.
He gave himself to the study of Scripture and founded a stricter community at Fiore. In 1200 he submitted all his writings to the judgment of Innocent III. He died on Holy Saturday, 30 March 1202.
The miracles
The holiness of his life is not in doubt and miracles were reported at his tomb; though never officially beatified, he is venerated as Blessed.
