Who they were

Born at Massapê in Ceará and ordained in 1938 by the first bishop of Sobral, he served as parish vicar, chaplain, teacher and spiritual director, was known for his closeness to the poor and his work in catechesis and confession, and on 15 August 1957 founded the Congregation of the Missionary Reparatrices of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The miracles

No miracle has been approved. The cause is at its first stage.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Holy See granted the nihil obstat on 29 April 2019, the diocesan phase closed on 30 June 2023, the Dicastery confirmed its validity on 12 December 2023 and the cause is now in its Roman phase.

The cause

Joaquim Arnóbio de Andrade is named a Servant of God; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: The cause of Joaquim Arnóbio de Andrade.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
