Who they were
At Constantinople, Saint John Calybite: according to tradition he lived for some time in a secluded place in his father's house and then in a hut, called a "kalybe", wholly devoted to contemplation and hidden from the sight of his own parents, by whom, after his death, he was recognised only thanks to a golden book of the Gospels which they had given him.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 15 January as a contemplative who lived hidden in a hut at his parents' house in Constantinople.
