Who they were
John Ingram of Herefordshire studied at Reims, Pont-à-Mousson and Rome, was ordained in 1589 and worked in Scotland from 1592.
Captured on the Tyne in 1593, he was tortured severely in the Tower with great constancy and wrote Latin epigrams in prison. Though there was no evidence he had exercised his priesthood in England, he was condemned and executed at Newcastle on 26 July 1594.
