John Larke

Who they were

John Larke was rector of St Ethelburga's in London and, from 1530, rector of Chelsea, parish priest and personal friend of St Thomas More.

Indicted in 1544 for denying the king's supremacy over the Church, he was executed at Tyburn on 7 March 1544 with German Gardiner.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
