John of Dukla

Who they were
John was born at Dukla in the Carpathians of Poland in 1414 and joined the Conventual Franciscans, becoming guardian at Krosno and at Lviv and custodian of all the friaries of that province.
He lived a hidden, ascetic life after the manner of the Observants, worked with fervent zeal for souls and promoted Christian unity. He died at Lviv on 29 September 1484. His cause began in 1615 and ended in 1733 with the Holy See's confirmation of his veneration.
